Picchiotti
part of the Perini Navi Group launch the second of the Vitruvius Ice
Class series, with the 55 M named M/Y Galileo G. The new Picchiotti 55 M
is again a design to Philippe Briand and features the BOS hull shape
and a hard to find even with Super Yacht of these dimensions an ABS
Class IB which makes her able to navigate on ice and in the North West
Passage between the North Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Her construction
is also unique featuring a protective ice belt around the water line
with extra reinforcement in the bow and to stern. The 55 M Vitruvius
also features a 3D monitor system which can detect submerged or semi
merged items up to a distance of 1 km.
